Sheet IBH-040 · First meeting
Site visit — how a first studio meeting runs
We borrowed the term from architecture: a site visit is a walk-through before drawings begin.
-
01
Arrival
Meet at the doorway with house numbers visible — see Walk-up for photos. Climb to #03-12. Shoes off inside; the floor is original timber.
-
02
Material table
We spread your brief, prior decks and any style guides on the table. Nothing is projected for the first thirty minutes.
-
03
Walk-through questions
We ask about audience, timing, approvers and channels already committed. Answers are noted in the margin of our cover sheet.
-
04
Scale recommendation
Before you leave, we recommend a scale bar shape or say we are not the right studio. Recommendation is emailed within one business day.
First hour timeline
Site visits are by appointment only. Email [email protected] with three date options. Video visits follow the same timeline when travel is impractical.
We do not record site visits without written consent. Notes stay in the project folder described on Handover.
Bring one person who can speak for approvers if possible. Secondary colleagues are welcome, but the cover sheet names a primary contact for QUERY responses. We have hosted legal counsel on video when compliance language was in scope — counsel marks in their own colour, not blue.
Site visits rarely include live creative work. The table is for reading and listening. Drafting begins after the visit unless you already signed a sprint letter and materials were pre-circulated.
If Moh Guan Terrace is inconvenient, we meet at the kopitiam on the ground floor of the block or at Tiong Bahru Market side tables on weekday mornings before ten. Same timeline applies; only the venue changes.
Before you travel
Send materials at least forty-eight hours ahead when possible. We print long memos for table spread; email-only arrival is fine but reduces Mark 1 time on the scale bar.
Tell us if you need a compliance colleague on the call. We reserve ninety minutes for first visits when compliance language is in scope.
Dress is office-casual. The unit is air-conditioned but the stair is not — light layers help in monsoon weeks.
